I signed up to work with Emily from Phoenix Transform because as a physician, I know nutrition is the foundation of good health. Emily addresses all components that lead to a poor diet, including the psychology and stress that fuels behavior with food. She is by far the most knowledgeable nutritionist I have ever worked with. She customized a program for me to help with arthritis, anti-aging and chronic disease prevention. I cannot recommend her program highly enough. If you are serious about good health, sign up. Because yes--your life DOES depend on it!
Emily Cowen is an excellent health coach. She expects you to take your discussions way beyond the surface, She expects the most and you don't want to disappoint her. I stumbled upon Phoenix Transform when looking for a nutritionist on google. I initially didn't know what really to look for, I'd been sent to a nutritionist by my doctor once before and didn't learn anything (they gave me a printed picture of a plate and what serving sizes I should eat and that was about it!) I knew I needed more than that! When I read the reviews of Emily and her services, it seemed like a good fit for me.
I've just finished 6 months with her and couldn't say enough great things! I've changed in many ways from my sessions! I think of food differently now (I pay attention to how I feel as I eat, what colors am I adding in, eating when I'm hungry not just bored and learning when I'm simply just tired instead of hungry, which has helped in decreasing my late night snack intake!) I've tried many new foods that I would've never before (both store bought and out at restaurants - and I actually like them!) she has also worked with me on balancing hormones (I have PCOS) and dealing with acid reflux! My lab work shows my cholesterol has gone down significantly since making these changes! Emily played a big role in that! She presents information in a simple manner and assigns homework that is individualized, challenging, and fun!! Emily has been such a light in my life when I was foggy. As an over exerciser , calorie counter, body dimorphic women I was seeking help in why my body was not answering to everything I was doing just short of starving myself. Emily has truly flipped my mindset. I am a strong person because of her. I have begun to accept myself and truly discover who I am after to many years of being disassociated with my body. Emily is always such a wonderful listener and help discover a path personal for you to become better. I will start by saying that Emily is a PRO! Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated to her craft/clients she also is extremely personable, kind and inviting. Prior to Emily I tried almost every fad diet, kept yo-yoing in weight and based my happiness on the number on a scale. Now I know that fat is just an adjective with zero negative connotation. That a scale is useless. That weight watchers and all the other diets are just money gimmicks. I've learned about meditation and colors of food and ways to be mindful in all aspects of life. I'm learning to slowly take control of my life, to not base my self esteem on others and to accept myself. Most importantly I'm finding a healthy relationship with food. There is so much more. Emily has been nothing short of incredible in my work the past 6 months with her.
